Located in one of the world’s most picturesque harbour-front locations, Australia has welcomed its first-ever Vogue Cafe. Housed in the recently completed Ribbon Building overlooking Darling Harbour, the Vogue Cafe joins hospitality A-listers like the W Hotel’s BTWN and 2am: dessert bar by Janice Wong.
Sprawling across 550 square metres, Vogue Cafe Sydney covers two floors of dining with a chic cocktail bar if you’re after something stronger than an espresso. The stunning interior design is led by award-winning architects Callie Van Der Merwe and Robert Zambri from COOOP (6Head, the Meat & Wine Co) and features iconic images from the Vogue Australia archive throughout.

Editorial director and publisher News Prestige and Conde Nast titles Australia, Edwina McCann, said, “I’m excited for Vogue Cafe Sydney to open this month in the cosmopolitan Darling Harbour precinct joining Vogue Cafes in locations such as Beijing, Doha and Istanbul.
“I’m especially proud of the artwork that will be displayed inside the cafe, which has been carefully selected from the Vogue Australia archives and includes some of our most iconic shoots with Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett photographed by Will Davidson, Margot Robbie photographed by Mario Sorrenti, and Adut Akech photographed by Josh Olins.”
Of course, fashion is number one at the Vogue Cafe but you’ll need fuel in your belly before you’re runway ready. The menu has been created by acclaimed chef Zachary Ng (XOPP, Restaurant Ka) and includes decadent numbers like seafood platters with xo butter lobster; steamed salmon with prawn emulsion; and applewood-smoked wagyu burgers with Asian-style slaw. Don’t forget the caviar service, darling.

The cocktail list strives to highlight native Australian ingredients and distillers with bespoke drinks like The Ribbon made of Granny Smith and Davidson plum amaro, rhubarb and soda, or the Fresh New Look blending vodka, coconut tequila, finger lime and lemon myrtle.
Vogue Cafe Sydney is open Monday to Sunday, 11:30am – late. Retail 5, The Ribbon, 35 Wheat Road, Sydney. For reservations head to the Vogue Cafe Sydney website.
